Welcome to Reset and Roam

Starting over isn’t a failure; it’s the bravest thing you’ll ever do.

Life pulls us in a thousand directions, doesn’t it? Somewhere along the way, between juggling responsibilities and chasing goals, we lose sight of what truly matters—our health, passions, and connection to others. Reset and Roam is my answer to that. It’s a space to share the messy, beautiful journey of rediscovery, resilience, and all the adventures in between.

Here, you’ll find stories about personal growth, travel, fitness, art, and the courage it takes to step into the unknown. It’s about learning to reset when life feels overwhelming and roaming—both literally and figuratively—to find new perspectives, meaning, and joy.

While this blog is largely written with men over 40 in mind—those of us navigating life’s second act and searching for a fresh spark—it’s truly for anyone who wants to embrace change, seek growth, and live with intention. If you’re looking for inspiration, insights on wellness, or a new outlook on starting over, you’re in the right place.

So, here’s to new beginnings and the endless roads ahead—let’s roam.

About Me

I’m a proud father of two adult children who inspire me every day. For over two decades, I was married, building a life filled with shared milestones and challenges. But life has a way of evolving, and after my marriage ended, I found myself at a crossroads, searching for who I was beyond the roles I had played.

In my late twenties, I answered a calling that deeply shaped me: I became a firefighter and paramedic, serving for more than a decade. It was a career that demanded strength, resilience, and compassion—qualities that have stayed with me through every chapter of my life. My time in the fire service taught me how to face adversity head-on, how to stay calm in chaos, and, most importantly, how to care for others. Unfortunately, an injury led to my medical retirement, forcing me to rebuild my life and find new meaning.

That search brought me to the tech and automotive world, where I’ve spent years helping companies streamline their operations and grow through modern technologies. The work challenges me to think creatively, solve problems, and innovate—all skills I’ve applied not only to my career but also to my personal journey of reinvention.

Why Reset and Roam?

The name Reset and Roam captures everything this journey represents. “Reset” is about taking a step back, reassessing, and finding the courage to start again—whether it’s in relationships, health, or mindset. “Roam” is about exploring not only the world around us but also the inner landscapes of who we are and who we’re becoming.

This blog is a reflection of the lessons I’ve learned (and am still learning):

  • How to start over after you decide to take a different path.
  • How to stay resilient when things get tough.
  • How to embrace the adventures—big and small—that make life extraordinary.
  • How exploring art can help you see life through a new lens.

I’ll share stories from the road, reflections on personal growth, insights on wellness, and lessons learned along the way. My hope is that these posts inspire you to take your first step toward change or reassure you that you’re not alone in your journey.

The Journey to Reset and Roam

When my marriage ended, I began a journey of self-discovery. Fitness became my anchor—it gave me structure, purpose, and a way to heal. Travel and adventure became my outlets for reflection and renewal. Whether it’s hiking new trails, experiencing a foreign culture, or simply trying something new, each experience has pushed me in ways I never imagined.

New relationships have also challenged my thinking and lifted me up to grow into someone new. They’ve taught me to see the world through different perspectives and to embrace balance in connections—strength tempered with gentleness, action paired with listening. Empathy and openness are at the heart of how I approach relationships, and these qualities continue to shape how I navigate life.

Saying “yes” to new experiences hasn’t always come naturally. There were moments of hesitation, doubt, and even fear. But every step out of my comfort zone has brought growth. Whether it’s trying unfamiliar foods, tackling physical challenges, or striking up conversations with strangers, these moments have taught me to live more fully and authentically.

What’s Ahead?

Over the coming years, I’ll be chasing and completing 50 goals by 50 years old that I’m calling my 50 by 50. From fitness challenges to travel plans, from learning new skills to conquering personal fears, these goals reflect my commitment to living boldly and intentionally.

While this blog may speak most directly to men over 40 who are searching for a fresh spark, it’s truly for anyone looking to reset, roam, and redefine their life.

This isn’t just a space for me to share my story—it’s a space for connection, growth, and exploration. So, whether you’re resetting, roaming, or just curious about what’s next, I invite you to join me on this journey.

Let’s reset, roam, and redefine what’s possible together.
